1. DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR AUTO TRANSCRIPTION AND THEIR PREPARATION

The necessary documents for auto transcription and their preparation

Before reviewing the necessary documents for the car transcription, you should know that this procedure is only carried out in the case of the purchase of second-hand cars, not new ones that need to be registered. That is why this process is also called re-enrollment.

Regarding the documents for the car transcription, you should know that the documents you need to prepare depend on where you purchased the car. Thus, in the case of a vehicle brought from abroad, you will need more papers. If you decide on one from Romania, they will be less.

If you looked at the car sales offers and chose and bought the car you want, here are the documents you need for the transcription of a vehicle:

  • the standard application that you can obtain either online or from various centers that deal with the preparation of documents for auto transcription;
  • identity card in original and copy;
  • the sales contract or the invoice, which must be stamped by the Local Taxes and Taxes Department in the commune/city of residence of the new owner and the seller;
  • the car registration document or the tax certificate issued by the Taxes and Taxes Department of the town hall of the owner's residence;
  • car identity card;
  • the original registration certificate or vehicle registration certificate;
  • proof of payment of the registration certificate;
  • a copy of the RCA policy concluded by the new owner;
  • the registration plates, if you will change the numbers or the proof of payment of the consideration for their preservation by the former owner.

You must also bear in mind that when transcribing the car, it must have the periodic technical inspection - ITP - valid.

This is one of the reasons why buying a used car from an authorized seller is much safer: all the documents required for the car transcription will be in order.

2. AUTO TRANSCRIPTION AND WHAT THE PROCEDURE INCLUDES

Auto transcription and what the procedure entails

When you buy a vehicle, you'll want to start using it as soon as possible, so it's good not to skip a few steps that may not seem that important at first glance. Thus, in order to prepare the documents for the machine transcription, here is what to pay attention to:

once the car is bought, make sure you have received all the documents (the car's license plate and identity card);

carefully check the contract of disposal-acquisition of a means of transport so that all the information is correct, thus avoiding its renewal;

present yourself in time to the tax authorities to obtain the necessary supporting documents (certificate of registration);

book your transcription as soon as possible after purchase;

conclude the RCA policy according to the reservation for the car transcription to ensure that it is valid on the date of presentation to the Driving License and Vehicle Registration Regime Directorate (DRPCIV) in your county.

Once you've passed these checks and prepared your auto transcript documents, you shouldn't have any problems.

How long does auto transcription take? It depends on several factors, including how quickly you prepared the necessary documents.

3. CAR TRANSCRIPTION – HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO REGISTRATE A CAR

Transcription of a motor vehicle. How long does it take to re-register a car

When you want to buy a used car, you most likely think about how long the car transcription takes, and rightly so. The process at the DRPCIV does not take long, it has been simplified quite a bit for several years, so that after submitting the file, both the documents and the new registration plates can be issued in 2-3 days. This term depends on the number of requests.

There are also situations where auto transcription can take up to several weeks, and the most common reason is the booking date which can be delayed depending on how busy it is at DRCIPV. That is why it is very important that at least the necessary documents are in order before you go to the counter.

In conclusion, the documents required for the car transcription are not many or, rather, they are less than those that need to be prepared when buying a new car. The process involves, in addition to the documents, a trip to the Taxes and Taxes Department, but it doesn't take more than a few days before you can enjoy your new purchase, once all the formalities have been completed correctly.
